HSAL Family Sightings

Last weekend, TLVS opened a killer show here in the Hill City! The Craddock-Terry Gallery in Riverviews Artspace played host to the three act bill which also boasted Advance Base & Sound Of Ceres, whose most recent full-length, “The Twin” is worth hunting down. Our friendly neighborhood instrumental rock trio took the audience through material that will comprise their new EP, “Wild Strawberry“, which should be out before the end of the year. What made the evening especially cool were the pieces of regional art that adorned the walls for the gallery’s annual juried show, specifically the large metal sculpture which took residence in the middle of the floor.

Meanwhile, out on the left coast, Steve Scott celebrated the release of his latest, “Cross My Heat“(HSAL #38), with friends & fans in northern California. Performing most of the new record, as well as some pieces from his travels over the past few decades, Steve took to the mic at the Fig Tree Lounge in Roseville. He shared stories of travel & exploration which affected much of his work. Video of both sets have since popped up on Facebook. Check out the 2nd set here, which begins with “The Eclipse” & features unreleased pieces the poet is still work-shopping…

  1. If I click on Steve Scott, the page comes up just in text. Also, I note you quote Scott Shinder from the “Emotional Tourist” release blurb. Do you want to make Steve Scott’s “Emotional Tourist” available through this site? If so, I will send you physical CDs to sell. Also, I reviewed “Cross My Heat” on Amazon, and will review it for this site also, if you like. I am a friend of Steve Scott’s (although I live in the Northwest). Both he and I are trying to get this Arena Rock CD and his other CDs into more outlets to make them available to more of his audience who may not otherwise come across them. Thanks for helping more listeners to discover Steve’s art. He certainly seems to have found a good home.
